Aesthetic Movement Porcelain Hand Painted Raised Gold Vanity Box Fairy Dust

Description

A hand painted 6" embossed porcelain vanity/powder box, profusely decorated with a raised gold trailing floral and vine design on a mauve and greenish hued background, made almost iridescent by the fairy dust gilding. It is unsigned, but my sense is it's German/Bavarian because of the embossing. Top rim is unglazed. The raised gold decoration is almost like a cloisonne, so I guess it could be Japanese. Regardless, it's a beautiful thing. There is a spot of loss seen in the first photo next to the trailing leaves on the right. It is otherwise excellent with no chips, cracks or crazing. It's
